DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL & AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING

The Graduate Assistant position is a training position intended to prepare successful candidates for academic careers. Upon appointment, successful candidates shall be required to register for a relevant Master's Degree programme at the Technical University of Mombasa under the African Development Bank (AfDB) HEST Phase II Project Scholarship, which shall cover the approved tuition fees and research costs for the duration of the programme, subject to the applicable scholarship and University regulations.

Professional Requirements

• Applicants MUST have attained a minimum of Second-Class Honors (Upper Division) in a relevant degree from a recognized and accredited University.
• Upon successful completion of the Masters Programme, candidate shall be expected to transition to PhD. Under the scholarship programme.
• The successful candidates shall be bonded under the applicable terms and conditions of Technical University of Mombasa.
• The successful candidates shall be expected to complete their studies within the prescribed study period;
• Candidates must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional and/or regulatory body, where applicable.
• Graduate Assistant shall be hired on one (1) year contract renewable normally for not more than three (3) years to enable the candidate complete a Master degree programme

 Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist senior academic staff members in assignments allocated by COD
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
